Our History
In June of 2001 two friends met to commiserate about their respective professional situations. One worked as a senior consultant for an international technology consulting company and the other as a senior project manager for a telecommunications company. Both expected layoffs in the near term.
Meeting at a public library in Edina, Minnesota, they began a casual conversation about starting a small business. They agreed to begin researching ideas and to meet again a few days later.
After several more conversations over the next few months, the two decided to develop software applications for hand held computing devices. One left his "outside" employer in January 2002 and the other followed a couple months later. Brillienz Software Solutions LLC was founded on February 6, 2002 with the goal of working to defragment the hand held device software application development space. A specific application idea related to managing diabetes was the first project to begin. At one time the company contracted with a dozen developers on various projects.
Excellanz Graphic & Web Design Services started in August 2002 when one of the partners was approached by an aquaintence about developing a website for his construction business. Excellanz has since expanded its service offerings to include business graphic design, digital interactive marketing, brochures, sales ad layout, and web application development in addition to providing simple small-business web designs.
As Excellanz was growing, the Brillienz business model was proving more and more difficult to manage and a decision was made to exit the hand held device space and, instead, to develop software applications related to business human capital scheduling.
Now operating four small divisions focused on engineering and technology consulting, graphic design, software design and an online church portal, the business was renamed RocketScienz Group LLC in mid 2003.
In October 2004, during a partner buyout, RocketScienz Group LLC was restructured. The company now has two operating divisions; Excellanz Graphic & Web Design Services and Brillienz Software Solutions.
